Edward and Eysselle Croswell Scholarship

Edward and Eysselle Croswell Scholarship

David Pearl and his wife Carol established the Edward and Eysselle Croswell Scholarship to honor the memory of David’s Aunt and Uncle who resided in Upper Fairmont in Somerset County, Md., where they operated a general store and served as Post Mistress, respectively for more than 50 years. Both greatly valued higher education. Edward was president of the Somerset School Board during the 1950s and Eysselle gave a generous donation to Washington College. Unable to have children of their own, they actively supported local youth organizations as well as the hospital in Crisfield. During World War 2, Edward volunteered as an Air Raid Warden and Eysselle corresponded with many lonesome local boys who were serving their country overseas. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student from Somerset County, Maryland who is enrolled in the Perdue School of Business and who has demonstrated the same compassion for others and commitment to public service that so characterized the lives of and compassion for others are that so characterized the lives of Edward and Eyssellle.
