Givens-Lowe Memorial Music Scholarship

This scholarship was established by SU graduate Rick Givens ’75,’76 in memory of his father, mother, and maternal grandmother for their encouragement and support for his music education. Degrees in business administration and liberal studies/music led Rick to a career in government and a simultaneous career as organist-choirmaster in the Episcopal church. Having served many years on the Board of Directors of the Salisbury University Foundation, Rick understands the importance of supporting student educational endeavors. This scholarship seeks to aid students whose goal it is to make music a professional career. However, it is his belief that professional, semi-professional and avocational pursuits in music are important contributors to the vitality of every community. In this spirit, applicants from any discipline may be considered under specific circumstances.
