Justin McJilton Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Bryan Horikami and Mrs. Jamie Holmes-Kriger, both longtime members of the Salisbury University community, were extremely saddened when they lost student, Justin Michael McJilton. Justin was an advisee of both and passed from aplastic anemia due to complications from leukemia on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009. He was only 23.

McJilton was an active student, Perdue School of Business management major with a minor in Spanish. He had twice served as co-chairman for the SU Relay for Life and was an avid supporter and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. He also had strong ties to the Believe In Tomorrow Foundation, which supports the Children’s House at the John’s Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore.

To honor his memory, Bryan and Jamie created a scholarship fund for those students whose lives have been affected by cancer.
