Modlin Family Scholarship
Eli Modlin, an SU alumnus and former U.S. Capitol intern, joined the University’s administration in 2016 and serves as the Chief of Staff and Vice President of Public Affairs and Strategic Initiatives. Prior to SU, he worked at the Maryland Comptroller’s Office as special liaison officer and then public affairs officer.
Eli is a member of the Salisbury University chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa and an active alumnus of Mount Saint Joseph High School. Eli, like most Sea Gulls, has a deep and abiding commitment to Salisbury University. He is also a member of the inaugural class of the Transformational Leadership Program, a collaboration between Salisbury University and the Greater Salisbury Committee to engage the next generation of leaders. Beyond the University, Modlin serves on the board of directors of My Brother’s Keeper, a Baltimore organization that provides workforce development and meals for those in need, and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. He also is a member of the National Folk Festival Executive Committee and the Leadership Maryland Class of 2020.
Raised in Catonsville, MD, Modlin is happy to claim the Eastern Shore as his home. This scholarship was created to honor his grandparents to provide funding for an incoming freshman undergraduate student with preference to a Maryland resident. Financial need from FAFSA is required as well as a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The scholarship may be renewed for a total of eight semesters maximum as long as criteria are met.
