Sandy Fitzgerald-Angello is a well-respected member of the Delmarva community. As the Owner-Operator of the Pohanka of Salisbury Automotive Group, one of the largest automotive groups on the Eastern Shore, she oversees the operations of six dealerships as well as two pre-owned stores, two insurance agencies and a small gift shop downtown. She is known for her dedication to the local community and has been presented with prestigious titles such as "The Jefferson Award, Maryland Top 100 women and Wicomico County’s Businesswomen of the Year.

Sandy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration program at the Perdue School of Business. Sandy is expected to graduate with her MBA from Salisbury University in May 2020.

Sandy started working for the Pohanka Automotive group when she was just 16 years old. She continued to work for the business as she attended college and dedicated herself to learning everything she could about the automotive industry. In 1999 she became a partner and has since dedicated her career to growing the business.

Sandy is an inspirational businesswoman who takes the time and effort to give back to her community. Angello started the “Pohanka Pays It Forward” charitable initiative campaign back in 2009 during the recession. During this time most companies cut charitable giving altogether, but it was Sandy’s concern that “It is important now more than ever to give back”. Since its foundation in 2009, Pohanka of Salisbury has donated over $3,000,000.00 to 750 charitable organizations and counting.

Sandy chose to fund a scholarship because she believes in the importance of education and wants to give a hard-working, well-deserving, student the chance to educate themselves at Salisbury University. “I hope to reward someone who has worked hard and deserves it.”
