Faculty Memorial Scholarship

The Faculty Memorial Scholarship will provide scholarship funding in memory of former SU faculty to a deserving SU undergraduate student who endeavors to pursue a career in higher education.

Student must fulfill the following criteria:
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status;
• 3.0 GPA or better;
• Demonstrate attributes and skill needed to become an effective educator in higher education;
• Nominated by a faculty member (each faculty member may nominate one student per academic year)
• Provide a personal statement including current career goals and plans to achieve them, students who are undecided with regard to precise goals may discuss possibilities and focus on one or two. Preference will be given to students who indicate an interest in pursuing a career as a college or university professor. The personal statement can include a statement of need but this is not required.

Students who have not been nominated and invited to apply to this scholarship should not do so on their own. You will not be considered for this scholarship otherwise.

Student applications are due by November 15th midnight. The scholarship will be applied to the spring bill and is non-renewable.
