Colonel Meta M. Mills Nursing Scholarship

The late Colonel Meta Mildred Mills, a veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF) Nurse Corps, was named Head Nurse for the United States Astronaut Program in 1963. As a graduate of Cambridge, MD, hospital’s nursing program, she continued her service in the field of nursing by entering the USAF in 1950. Twenty-five years later, Colonel Meta Mills retired. The Colonel Meta M. Mills Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled full-time in the Doctorate of Nursing program at Salisbury University. The recipient must demonstrate financial need from FAFSA and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship is awarded through the Department of Nursing and is non-renewable.
