SMCPS Future Teacher Scholarship Application

$5,000 scholarship for a Maryland HS graduate currently pursuing a degree leading toward Maryland teacher certification at a Higher Education Program.

Scholarship acceptance requirements include:

The recipient must be within two years of finishing a degree that leads to Maryland Teacher Certification.
The recipient must provide confirmation of current enrollment at the institute of higher education that provides a program and coursework that leads to Maryland Teacher Certification.
The recipient must provide complete addresses and contact information for the Bursar’s office of the institute of higher education to facilitate payment to your college or university.
The recipient may apply for renewal of this scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year provided that the recipient continues to maintain coursework toward Maryland teacher certification in a higher education institution and complete the renewal application process.
Within six months of completing their teacher education degree, the recipient will be expected to apply and to teach within St. Mary’s County Public Schools for two years.

NOTE: Full-time, benefited SMCPS employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2023.
