Lucy Tull Scholarship

The Lucy Tull Scholarship provides funding for students pursuing degrees in medically related fields. Scholarships may include funding for tuition, housing, meals, books and mandatory fees in the cost of attendance budget and are renewable throughout the student’s undergraduate studies for up to eight semesters. Other types of scholarships and grants a student is receiving will be considered in the final Tull scholarship amount. Freshman applicants, upper class transfer students from Wor-Wic Community College and current first degree Salisbury University students who are permanent residents of Wicomico, Worcester, or Somerset County, MD are eligible for consideration. Candidates must have a required major within College of Health and Human Services or the Henson School and pursue a career in nursing, clinical laboratory science, respiratory therapy, public health or be planning on a career in medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, optometry, pharmacy, public health or other health care professions. Candidates may also be a Biology or Chemistry Secondary Education major. Priority will be given to those studying Nursing. Tull Scholarship recipients are not guaranteed acceptance into professional programs that require formal admission. Eligible entering freshmen, transfer students and currently enrolled Salisbury University students can begin applying Dec 1st for the upcoming academic year. Scholarship applicants must submit the FAFSA each year soon after October 1st so results will be available by the scholarship application deadline. Financial need from the FAFSA is required. Documents submitted by freshmen and transfer applicants during the admissions process will be available to the Tull Scholarship Committee, whereas, SU academic transcripts will be reviewed for current SU students. Salisbury University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and therefore athletic leadership, ability, participation nor performance can be utilized as a criterion in the determination of your financial aid award. As you apply for scholarships within Salisbury University’s Academic Works scholarship site please do not mention athletic leadership, ability, participation or performance within any required essay as it will remove you from consideration for the award to ensure Salisbury University continued compliance with Bylaw 15.4.1 of the NCAA regulations.
