Chesapeake American Water Works Association (CSAWWA)

The Chesapeake Section, American Water Works Association (CSAWWA) invites you to apply for our new College / Trade School Scholarship Award, which is available to college, university or trade school students enrolled in an engineering, science, environmental, or construction program with an interest in a career in the water utility industry. The $1,000 scholarship can be utilized for tuition, fees, books, and school supplies. Three $1,000 scholarship opportunities are available.

Eligibility
•Must be enrolled in an engineering, science, or environmental program at a college, university, or trade school in 2024, with plans to continue studies at least through December 31, 2024.
•Must have either a permanent residence in Maryland, Delaware or the District of Columbia OR attend school within Maryland, Delaware or DC

Deadline
The deadline for applying for this scholarship is March 31, 2024, and the award will be announced in May 2024. Applicants will fill out the application form.

What are your career plans after you obtain your degree / certificate?
How will this scholarship help you achieve your water career goals?
Describe any awards, citations, and honors that you received from school, or from groups outside of school (church, clubs, community, etc.).
Describe and provide examples of your leadership qualities and experience.
Describe any community service projects you participate in.
Describe your hobbies and extracurricular activities. Highlight water-related activities.

Please send a copy of your transcript to admin@csawwa.org. Applicants will be primarily evaluated on their short answer responses in the application, but their GPA will also be taken into consideration.
