2025 scholarship program details
In 2025, the SECU MD Foundation will award twelve exceptional college students with a total of $120,000 in scholarships.

We will accept scholarship applications from February 18 – May 2 and announce winners in June.

SECU MD Foundation scholarship program eligibility
Scholarship applicants and winners must meet the following eligibility requirements.

1. Be a SECU member in good standing.
2. Be currently enrolled at any of Maryland’s 16 community colleges.
3. Attend a University System of Maryland school for the 2025-26 academic year.
4. Students that have transferred from a Maryland community college to a University System of Maryland school in the last 18 months are also eligible.

Scholarship program overview
For 19 years, the SECU MD Foundation has proudly supported members pursuing their higher education goals through our annual scholarship program. Since the program’s inception, we’ve awarded over $1.1 million in scholarships.

With lower tuition rates, smaller class sizes, and individualized student support, community colleges are a popular and financially responsible choice for savvy Maryland students. In 2023, 24% of all new students to University System of Maryland schools were transfer students from Maryland community colleges.
