Crabtree Diversity of Thought Sales Scholarship

Diversity of thought in the business world allows organizations to explore new and innovative ways of achieving their goals by intentionally seeking different perspectives, challenging conventional thinking, and looking beyond the status quo. The Crabtree Diversity of Thought Sales Scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership through forward thinking, proactivity, and serving as a change agent in their community, on campus, or in the workplace.

The scholarship will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students participating in the Mid-Atlantic Sales & Marketing Institute who have completed their required ABLE internship during the current fall semester. First preference will be given to students with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

After completing the ABLE internship, applicants must submit a short essay of 250 words or less explaining how diversity of thought—such as thinking “outside the box” or “going against the grain”—can benefit the workplace by introducing new or progressive ideas. Applicants should also provide specific examples of community, campus, and/or workplace involvement where they have practiced diversity of thought and describe how their approach influenced the outcome.

Two students will each receive a $2,500 scholarship. Awards will be applied to the selected students’ financial aid for the upcoming spring semester only.

The Perdue School Student Development Committee, or its designee(s), will select the scholarship recipients.
