Brown Pelican Scholarship Endowment

The Brown Pelican Scholarship Endowment was established by Sonya Whited, the director of process, packaging and commercialization for Perdue Farms, Inc. A longtime supporter of SU, she also is involved with the United Way of the Eastern Shore, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore, and past president of the Princess Anne Alumnae chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Whited is a member of The SU Foundation Board of Directors since 2019 and currently serves as the Governance Chair. She believes education has a huge influence on our future within our community, the country and the world. As a Foundation Board of Director, I am able to foster this belief and promote the equity of experiences to all who attend Salisbury University.
